HELENA &gt;&gt; The Kelseyville Knights completed a big week with another three-set road sweep, taking out the St.&nbsp; Helena Saints 25-19, 25-23, 25-16 in North Central League I varsity volleyball action at St. Helena.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Knights, who swept Middletown in three sets Tuesday, moved into a tie with Cloverdale atop the league standings. Both teams are 8-2 with four matches remaining, including an Oct. 22 meeting when the Eagles travel to Kelseyville.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>No match statistics were reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kelseyville is home Tuesday to play Upper Lake (2-8). Junior varsity begins at 5 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>St. Helena did win the junior varsity match, handing Kelseyville its first league loss, 25-22, 22-25, 15-12. The Knights are now 9-1 while St. Helena improved to 7-3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>No individual statistics were reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In other NCL I action Thursday:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Middletown def. Lower Lake<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At Middletown, the Middletown Mustangs swept the Lower Lake Trojans 25-12, 25-9, 25-19 behind 26 assists, 12 digs, 10 service points and three aces from sophomore setter Isa Barnes, and 10 kills, nine service points and five aces from Mia Hoogendoorn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe had six serving errors in each of the first and third sets,\u201d Middletown head coach Erika Galvan said. \u201cAlthough we had some good area with serving, it is what we are struggling with the most. Our passing was much better tonight with Isa Barnes at 12 digs, Beverly Fetters had 11, and Makayla Mace with 10.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Middletown improved to 6-4 in league play and will likely need to win its four remaining matches to have a shot at capturing some share of the league title. The Mustangs finish up with Fort Bragg (next Tuesday), St. Helena (Oct. 17), Upper Lake (Oct. 22) and Clear Lake (Oct. 24), all four matches in Middletown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lower Lake is now 0-10 in league play. Brooke Benson had four blocks and three aces for the Trojans, Brooklynn Tubbs finished with six digs, and Jamiya Lee-Ayers added a kill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Middletown won the JV match 25-21, 25-21 behind 15 assists and five service points from Bridget Lisenbee, 14 digs and five kills from Hailey Williams, and six kills, five service points and three assists from Hannah Tribby.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Mustangs are 7-3 in league play while Lower Lake fell to 1-9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Fort Bragg def. Clear Lake<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At Fort Bragg, defending NCL I champion Fort Bragg (7-3) won its fourth straight match, sweeping the Clear Lake Cardinals 25-11, 25-15, 25-23.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fort Bragg is one game behind league co-leaders Cloverdale and Kelseyville, both 8-2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAs a coach, there is no doubt you want to win, but more importantly you want your team to play as a family,\u201d Clear Lake head coach Izzy Short said. \u201cThat is what the girls did last night.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Atiana Patino\u2019s 24 digs and Emily Gersalia\u2019s 16 assists led the Cardinals (3-7). Aniya Jauregui added 14 digs and five kills, Lindee Bingham finished with five kills, and Kaylah Billig had three kills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Clear Lake did win the JV match in three sets (scores unavailable).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jazmine Wiebusch led the Cardinals with 16 assists and three aces while Ashlynn Cruz had 10 digs, three aces and three kills. Other team leaders were Kiara Hopkins with four digs and three kills, and Avery Fiske with five kills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Clear Lake\u2019s teams hit the road Tuesday to play Cloverdale.
